Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a cord around the neck of a woman of his household with amulets on it. He stretched out his hand forcefully and broke it, and said: "If one of you women were to call for water, sprinkle it on her head and face, and then recite Bismillah, Surah al-Ikhlas, Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas, then, if Allah wills, this would benefit her."
Al-Tabarani recorded it within a long hadith; the narrator Abu Ubaydah did not hear from his father [Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him)].
