Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the Ansar named Amr bin Hannah, who used to perform ruqyah for snakebite, came and said: O Messenger of Allah, you have forbidden ruqyah, and I perform ruqyah for snakebite. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite its words to me." He recited those words before him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no harm in them; these are covenants (mawathiq)." The narrator says: A man from the Ansar who used to perform ruqyah for scorpion stings came to him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is able to benefit his brother should do so." This report is in the Sahih in abridged form.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Qays bin al-Rabi'; Shu'bah and al-Thawri declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and a group declared him da'if (weak).
