Abu Talhah al-Khawlani narrates: We came to Sayyiduna Umayr bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him); we were a group of people from Palestine. I mentioned the contagion of disease in his presence, and he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no significance to contagion (of disease), to evil omens or to the ham."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it as well, with a long story in it. Its chain contains Isa bin Sinan al-Hanafi, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Imam Ahmad and others graded him da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
