Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 8282

It is reported about Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: O Messenger of Allah! The incantations (ruqyah) that are recited and the medicines that are used, do they turn back anything of the decree ordained by Allah Almighty? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They themselves are the decree ordained by Allah Almighty.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Salih bin Abi al-Akhdar, who is da'if (weak), but his hadith is taken into consideration.
