Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), or perhaps Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After the worship of idols, the first thing my Lord forbade me was drinking wine and people quarrelling with one another."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Waqid, who is matruk (abandoned) and was accused of lying. Muhammad bin al-Mubarak al-Suri said: "He was saduq (truthful)," but his statement has been rejected, and the majority have declared this narrator da'if (weak).
