Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 8080

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade six things: wine, donkeys, gambling, musical pipes (mazamir), the daff (tambourine) and the kubah (drum).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Hafs bin Umar, the imam, who is extremely da'if (weak). Al-Bazzar recorded it in very abridged form, with these words: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: "Every intoxicant is forbidden." The chain of this report contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Ammar bin Subayh, who is al-Bazzar's teacher; I do not know him. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
