Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7851

The daughter of Zam'ah narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "My father has passed away, and he has left behind his umm walad (slave mother of his child). We think that this woman had relations with a certain man. She gave birth to a child, and her child resembles the man with whom we suspected she had relations." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, "You must observe hijab from this boy, for he is not your brother; however, he will receive the inheritance."
Ahmad recorded it. The name of the Tabi'i in it is not mentioned. The rest of the narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
