وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا طَلَاقَ لِمَنْ يَمْلِكُ ، وَلَا عَتَاقَ لِمَنْ لَا يَمْلِكُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ إِلَّا أَنْ طَاوُوسًا لَمْ يَلْقَ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ إِلَّا أَنْ طَاوُوسًا لَمْ يَلْقَ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ .
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no divorce (given) by one who is not the owner (that is, one who does not have the right to divorce), and there is no valid freeing of a slave by one who is not the owner (of the slave)."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that the narrator Tawus did not meet Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him).
