وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " عُمَرُ غَيُورٌ ، وَأَنَا أَغْيَرُ مِنْهُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَغْيَرُ مِنَّا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Umar is protectively jealous (ghayur), and I am more protectively jealous than him, and Allah Almighty is more protectively jealous than us."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Miqdam bin Dawud, who is da'if (weak).
