Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7728

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! Are you not protectively jealous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! I am protectively jealous, and Allah Almighty is more protectively jealous than me; and part of His protective jealousy is that He has forbidden indecencies (fawahish)."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Kamil Abu al-Ala', about whom there is criticism that does no harm, and he is otherwise thiqah (trustworthy). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
