Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me what the right of the husband over the wife is, for I am a widow. If I am able to (fulfil it), well and good; otherwise I will remain as I am. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is the husband's right over the wife that if he desires intimacy with her while she is on the back of a camel, she should not refuse him herself. And it is also among the husband's rights over the wife that she should not observe a voluntary fast without his permission; if she does so, she will merely remain hungry and thirsty, and her fast will not be accepted. And she should not leave the house without the husband's permission; if she does so, the angels of the heaven, the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment will keep cursing her until she returns. The woman said: Then it is certain that I will never marry.
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Husayn bin Qays, known as Hanash, and he is da'if (weak); Husayn bin Numayr declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
