Abu Wa'il narrates: A man from Bajilah came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "I have married a virgin girl, and I fear that she will come to detest me." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Beware! Affection is from Allah Almighty, and aversion is from Satan, so that he may make hateful to a person what Allah Almighty has made lawful. When she is brought to you, instruct her to pray two rak'ahs behind you." Al-A'mash narrates: I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "And supplicate: 'Allahumma barik li fi ahli wa barik lahum fiyya, Allahumma-rzuqhum minni wa-rzuqni minhum, Allahumma-jma' baynana ma jama'ta ila khayr, wa farriq baynana idha farraqta ila al-khayr' (O Allah, bless me in my family and bless them in me. O Allah, provide for them through me and provide for me through them. O Allah, as long as You keep us together, keep us together towards goodness, and when You separate us, separate us towards goodness)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
