Abdullah bin Habbar reports from his father: Sayyiduna Habbar (may Allah be pleased with him) married off his daughter, and at her wedding the "kir" (a particular instrument) and the "ghirbal" (a sieve-like drum) were played. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the sound and asked: "What is this?" The people said: "Habbar has married off his daughter, and the 'kir' (a particular instrument) and the 'ghirbal' (a sieve-like drum) are being played at her wedding." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Proclaim the marriage with song! Proclaim the marriage with song! This is marriage, not a secret affair."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Ubaydullah al-Arzami, who is da'if (weak).
