بَابٌ فِيمَنْ تَرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ لِطَلَبِ الْعِلْمِ .

Majma al-Zawaid 752 — One who leaves prayer to seek knowledge
عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ : إِنَّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ يَصُدُّكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ وَعَنْ صِلَةِ الرَّحِمِ ، فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُنْتَهُونَ ؟ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
Shu'bah said: This hadith (i.e., the pursuit of the science of hadith) keeps you away from the remembrance of Allah, from prayer and from maintaining ties of kinship; so will you not desist?
