وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ وَلِيٍّ مُرْشِدٍ أَوْ سُلْطَانٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no marriage without the permission of a rightly-guiding (that is, sensible or sincere) guardian, or of the ruler."
