وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنٍ وَلِيٍّ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman cannot be married without the permission of a guardian."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Qays al-Makki, and he is matruk (abandoned).
