Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any woman who is married without the permission of her guardian, that woman's marriage will be void. If the man has had intercourse with her, then he has made her private part lawful, and for that reason the woman will receive the dowry, but the two of them will be separated; and if the man had not consummated the marriage with her, then the two of them will be separated; and the ruler is the guardian of one who has no guardian."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Hamzah bin Abi Hamzah, and he is matruk (abandoned).
