Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 735

It is reported about Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that when his students came to him, he would say: Teach one another, and receive glad tidings, and increase (in goodness); Allah Almighty will grant you increase in goodness; He will love you, and He will also love whoever loves you. And bring the questions back to us, for the reward of the last of it will be like that of the first of it. And mix seeking forgiveness (istighfar) into your conversation.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
