بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا فِي عَبْدٍ .
One who frees his share in a slave

وَعَنْ عُبَادَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِقْصًا مِنْ مَمْلُوكٍ فَهُوَ ضَامِنٌ بَقِيَّتَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever frees a share of a slave will be liable for the rest of him."
