بَابُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَى الْمَوَالِي وَالْوَصِيَّةِ بِهِمْ .

Majma al-Zawaid 7222 — Kindness to freed slaves and the counsel
قَالَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ : إِنَّ عَلِيًّا قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ادْفَعْ إِلَيَّ خَادِمًا . قَالَ لَهُ : " فِي الْبَيْتِ ثَلَاثَةٌ اخْتَرْ وَاحِدًا " . فَذَكَرَهُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .
In one narration, he recorded these words: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Give me a servant. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are three in the house; choose one of them." After that the narrator recorded the hadith in abridged form.
