In one narration, he recorded these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) a young man and said: "Feed him from what you eat and clothe him from what you wear." Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari had a garment; he tore it, made half of it into a waist-wrap, and gave the other half to the slave. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why do I see your garment like this?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, you said: "Feed him from what you eat and clothe him from what you wear." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." I said: I have set him free. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Dharr, Allah Almighty will reward you." This narration revolves around Abu Ghalib, who is thiqah (trustworthy), though he has been declared da'if (weak).
