Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7219

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have bought a slave; what should I do with him? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is your brother in Islam. Feed him from what you eat and clothe him from what you wear, and if you dislike him, sell him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Sa'id bin Muhammad al-Warraq, who is matruk (abandoned).
