Majma al-Zawaid 7101 — One who leaves his heirs well off

Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you leave your heirs well off, that is better than leaving them destitute, begging from people. Whatever you spend seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty, you will be rewarded for it, even the morsel you put in your wife's mouth (you will be rewarded for that too)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains al-Walid bin Muhammad al-Muwaqqari, who is matruk (abandoned).
