وَعَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ مَعْرُورٍ أَوْصَى لِلنَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِثُلُثِ مَالِهِ يَضَعُهُ حَيْثُ يَشَاءَ فَرَدَّهُ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى وَلَدِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَتَابِعِيُّهُ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Ma'rur (may Allah be pleased with him) made a will of one third of his wealth for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) could spend it wherever he wished. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned that wealth to his children.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; I do not know its Tabi'i narrator, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
