Sayyidah Zaynab bint Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent his Companions, and they seized captives of Banu al-Anbar, who were mukhadramun and had already accepted Islam. Zabib rode his she-camel and came ahead of the people, and said: O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you! Your Companions have seized captives of Banu al-Anbar, although they are "mukhadramun" and have accepted Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: O Zabib, do you have any proof? He replied: Yes! Then Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) testified and Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him) took an oath. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Return to Banu al-Anbar everything that belongs to them! So the people returned to them everything that belonged to them, except my mother's rug. After this the narrator mentioned the complete narration, further on in which are these words: He says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came close to Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him) and passed his blessed hand over his head until he brought it down to his navel. Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Until I felt the coolness of the palm of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he prayed: O Allah, grant him pardon and well-being! Then Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him) went off with the sword and sold it for two young she-camels from the sadaqah camels of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Those she-camels gave birth at Sayyiduna Zabib's place until he had more than one hundred she-camels. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded from this Companion a narration without this context, in which it says that they returned half of what belonged to them, whereas here it says that they returned everything; and there it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) did not testify and refused to testify, whereas here it is mentioned that he did testify.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
