Majma al-Zawaid 6784 — Reviving barren land

Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever brings a barren part of the land to life, which is not the right of any Muslim, that land will be his, and no one has the right to plant there (or seize the land) wrongfully."
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Kathir bin Abdullah, and he is da'if (weak).
