وَعَنْ أُمِّ حَكِيمٍ بِنْتِ وَدَّاعٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّةِ قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا جَزَاءُ الْغَنِيِّ مِنَ الْفَقِيرِ ؟ قَالَ : " النَّصِيحَةُ ، وَالدُّعَاءُ " قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، تَكْرَهُ رَدَّ اللَّطَفِ ؟ قَالَ : " مَا أَقْبَحَهُ ، لَوْ أُهْدِيَ إِلَيَّ كُرَاعٌ لَقَبِلْتُ وَلَوْ دُعِيتُ إِلَى ذِرَاعٍ لَأَجَبْتُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَا يُعْرَفُ .

Sayyidah Umm Hakim bint Wadda' al-Khuza'iyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) states: I said: O Messenger of Allah! What is the poor person's repayment to the wealthy? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sincere counsel and supplication. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you dislike returning a gift? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How ugly that is! If I were given even a trotter as a gift, I would accept it, and if I were invited to (a meal of) a foreleg, I would accept."
