Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6737

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever receives a kindness (that is, someone does him good) and mentions it, it is as if he has thanked him; and whoever adorns himself with something he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Salih bin Abi al-Akhdar, who is da'if (weak).
