Shurahbil bin Sa'd narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Gold for gold is to be exchanged like for like, and silver for silver like for like, and on both sides coin for coin (on the spot). Whoever gives extra or seeks extra has engaged in usury (riba)." Shurahbil said: If I did not hear this from them, may Allah Almighty enter me into Hell. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: A hadith from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) is in the "Sahih".
Ahmad recorded it. The narrator Shurahbil bin Sa'd was declared thiqah (trustworthy) by Ibn Hibban, and the majority of the imams called him da'if (weak).
