Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): May I buy gold for silver, or silver for gold? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you buy one of them for the other, then when your counterpart parts from you there should be no ambiguity between you and him." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: A hadith from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) is in the Sunan, that he used to sell camels for silver and take possession of the silver.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
