وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ : اشْتَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - تَمْرًا ، فَأُتِيَ بِصَاعٍ مِنْ عَجْوَةٍ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءُوا بِهِ أَنْكَرَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكُمْ هَذَا ؟ " . قَالُوا : بِعْنَا بِصَاعَيْنِ ، فَأَتَيْنَا بِصَاعٍ . فَقَالَ : " رُدُّوهُ رُدُّوهُ لَا حَاجَةَ لَنَا بِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ حِبَّانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed a desire for dates, and a sa' of Ajwah dates was brought to him. When it came to him, he was surprised at it and asked: Where did you get these? The people said: We sold two sa' of dates and then brought (back) one sa'. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Return it! Return it! We have no need of it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Hibban bin Abdullah, who is da'if (weak).
