وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : غَلَا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، سَعِّرْ لَنَا فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ ، وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى اللَّهَ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي عِرْضٍ ، وَلَا مَالٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Prices rose in the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The people submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Fix prices for us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is the One who fixes prices, the One who constricts and the One who expands. I hope that when I come before Allah Almighty, none of you will have any claim against me for a wrong concerning honour or wealth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains Ali bin Yunus, who is da'if (weak).
