بَابٌ فِيمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
One who lies about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا لِيَضِلَّ بِهِ النَّاسَ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me in order to lead people astray by it, let him make his abode in Hell."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good).
