Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to the market and saw a heap of grain. He put his blessed hand into it, and his hand reached grain that was wet, which the rain had fallen on. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the owner of the grain, "Why have you done this?" He replied, "By the One who sent you with the truth, it is one and the same grain." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then why did you not keep the wet apart and the dry apart, so that people would buy it knowing what it is? Whoever deceives us is not one of us."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
