Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: On the occasion of the expedition of Tabuk, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit and, after praising and glorifying Allah Almighty, said: "O people! By Allah, I command you only with what Allah Almighty has commanded you, and I forbid you only from what Allah Almighty has forbidden you. So be moderate in seeking (provision). By the One in whose hand is the soul of Abu al-Qasim, a person's provision seeks him just as his death pursues him. If any of it becomes difficult for you to obtain, then seek it through obedience to Allah Almighty."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Uthman al-Hatibi, whom Abu Hatim declared da'if (weak).
