بَابُ الِاقْتِصَادِ فِي طَلَبِ الرِّزْقِ وَالْإِجْمَالِ فِيهِ .

Majma al-Zawaid 6293 — Moderation and restraint in seeking provision
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " نَفَثَ رُوحُ الْقُدُسِ فِي رُوعِي أَنَّ نَفْسًا لَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تَسْتَكْمِلَ أَجَلَهَا وَتَسْتَوْعِبَ رِزْقَهَا ، فَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ ، وَلَا يَحْمِلَنَّكُمُ اسْتِبْطَاءُ الرِّزْقِ أَنْ تَطْلُبُوهُ بِمَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُنَالُ مَا عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِطَاعَتِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The Holy Spirit (Ruh al-Qudus) has inspired into my heart that no soul will leave this world until its appointed time is complete and it has received all of its provision. So be moderate in seeking (provision)! Let not the delay of provision drive you to try to obtain it through disobedience to Allah Almighty, for what is with Him can only be attained through obedience to Him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Ufayr bin Ma'dan, who is da'if (weak).
