عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّ حَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ الْأَكْبَرَ حِينَ وُلِدَ أَرَادَتْ فَاطِمَةُ أَنْ تَعِقَّ عَنْهُ بِكَبْشَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا تَعِقِّي عَنْهُ ، وَلَكِنِ احْلِقِي رَأْسَهُ ، ثُمَّ تَصَدَّقِي بِوَزْنِهِ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " . ثُمَّ وَلَدَتْ حُسَيْنًا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَصَنَعَتْ بِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: When Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) was born, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) intended to sacrifice two rams for his aqiqah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not perform his aqiqah; rather, shave his head and give in charity, in the path of Allah, silver equal to the weight of his hair." Then, when Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was born after him, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) did the same.
