Dujayn Abu al-Ghusn narrates: I entered Madinah and met Aslam, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). I said: "Narrate to me some hadith from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)." Aslam said: "I cannot do that, because I fear that I will add something or leave something out. When we used to say to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), 'Narrate to us some hadith from the Messenger of Allah', he would say: 'I fear that I will add a letter or leave out a letter, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever attributes a lie to me will go to Hell."'"
Imam Ahmad and Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration, except that he (Abu Ya'la) recorded these words: "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare to take his particular seat in Hell." Its chain contains a narrator, Dujayn bin Thabit Abu al-Ghusn, and he is da'if (weak); he is nothing (of worth).
