وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ الضَّبَّ أُمَّةٌ مُسِخَتْ دَوَابَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بِنَحْوِهِ مُحَالٌ عَلَى حَدِيثِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ وَدِيعَةَ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The lizard was a nation that was transformed into the form of creatures of the earth."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and Ahmad recorded something similar; the basis of this narration is the narration reported by Thabit bin Wadi'ah, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
