عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَسَنَةَ قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي سَفَرٍ . قَالَ : فَنَزَلْنَا أَرْضًا كَثِيرَةَ الضِّبَابِ . قَالَ : فَأَصَبْنَا مِنْهَا وَذَبَحْنَا . قَالَ : فَبَيْنَا الْقُدُورُ تَغْلِي بِهَا إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ أُمَّةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فُقِدَتْ ، وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ تَكُونَ هِيَ فَاكْفِئُوهَا " . فَكَفَأْنَاهَا ، وَإِنَّا لَجِيَاعٌ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُ الْجَمِيعِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Hasanah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were travelling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The narrator says: We camped at a place where there were very many lizards (dabb). The narrator says: We caught them and slaughtered them. The narrator says: While they were cooking in the pots, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and said: "A nation of the Children of Israel went missing, and I fear that it may be these; so overturn these pots!" (The narrator says:) So we overturned them, even though we were hungry.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar; the narrators of all of them are the narrators of the Sahih.
