Majma al-Zawaid 5704 — The sanctity of Makkah and the prohibition

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: I saw the one who led the elephant and its keeper; both of them had become blind and crippled, and they used to beg for food in Makkah.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
