Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Sudayy bin Ajlan al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Farewell Hajj, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came riding a she-camel and stopped in the midst of the people on the Day of Arafah. He asked: "What day is this?" The people replied: "It is the Day of Arafah, which is a sacred day." He asked: "What month is this?" The people replied: "It is the sacred month." He asked: "What city is this?" The people replied: "It is the sacred city." He said: "Your wealth, your honour and your lives are as inviolable to one another as this day of yours is inviolable, in this month of yours and in this city of yours. Beware! Every prophet has made his supplication, but the matter of my supplication is different: I have stored it with my Lord for the Day of Resurrection. To proceed: the prophets will take pride before one another in the great number (of their followers), so do not disgrace me. I will be sitting for you at the gate of the Pond."
