In one narration the wording is: Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of the Farewell Hajj he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: He was on his she-camel al-Jad'a'; he had placed his feet in the stirrups and had placed one of his two hands on the front leg and the other on the rear leg, so that he would be clearly visible. He said: "O people, be silent! Perhaps you will not see me after this year of yours." After this the narrator mentioned the narration as before. All of these narrations were recorded by Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain), and the rest of the narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
