Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5376

Sayyiduna Khallad bin Suwayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: 'O Muhammad, be one who does 'ajj and thajj.'"
(The narrator says:) By 'ajj is meant reciting the talbiyah, and by thajj is meant shedding blood (that is, offering sacrifices).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Ishaq, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
