Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Khallad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Be one who does 'ajj and thajj." (The narrator says:) By 'ajj is meant reciting the talbiyah, and by thajj is meant slaughtering the sacrificial animals. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The authors of the Sunan have
recorded this narration: "Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and instructed me to command my Companions to recite the talbiyah aloud."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Ishaq, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
