Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 535

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever teaches a servant one verse of the Book of Allah becomes his master (mawla); it is then not fitting for him to forsake him or to wrong him."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ubayd bin Razin al-Ladhiqi, and I have not seen anyone who mentions him.
