Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: "I fear for my Ummah only three things: that the world will become abundant for them, so they will envy one another (and kill one another); that the Book (its knowledge) will be opened up for them, and a believer will take it up seeking its interpretation, although none knows its interpretation except Allah Almighty, and those firmly grounded in knowledge say: 'We believe in it; all of it is from our Lord,' and none take heed except people of understanding; (and the third thing is that) they will see a person of knowledge among them and neglect him and not care about him."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Ayyash narrated it from his father, although he did not hear from his father.
