وَعَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ وَرَمَضَانَ يَصِلُهُمَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ الْأَحْوَصُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ كَثِيرٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast Sha'ban and Ramadan in such a way that he joined the two together.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Ahwas bin Hakim, about whom much has been said, although he has been declared trustworthy.
