Majma al-Zawaid 5159 — Fasting in Sha'ban
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصِلُ شَعْبَانَ بِرَمَضَانَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to join Sha'ban to Ramadan (in fasting).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
