بَابُ الصِّيَامِ فِي شَهْرِ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمِ وَالْأَشْهُرِ الْحُرُمِ .

وَعَنْ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْمَفْرُوضَةِ الصَّلَاةُ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ ، وَأَفْضَلَ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ " .
قُلْتُ : عَزَاهُ فِي الْأَطْرَافِ إِلَى النَّسَائِيِّ ، وَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ فِي نُسْخَتِي ، وَهُوَ فِي الْكُبْرَى .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قُلْتُ : عَزَاهُ فِي الْأَطْرَافِ إِلَى النَّسَائِيِّ ، وَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ فِي نُسْخَتِي ، وَهُوَ فِي الْكُبْرَى .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "The most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayer is the one performed in the middle of the night, and the most virtuous fasting after Ramadan is the fasting of the month of Allah Almighty which you call Muharram."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The author of al-Atraf attributed it to Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him), but I did not find this report in the copy I have; it is in al-Sunan al-Kubra.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
